If you manage to go through a traditional Hindu lunar calender, you would certainly find it dotted with countless auspicious events. They are celebrated in a befitting manner without any room of doubt! One such event is the birth anniversary of Thakur Sitaramdas Omkarnath. Today is the 129th birth anniversary of this great spiritual leader.
Sitaramdas was a great leader who had innumerable followers. However, he set up seventy five ashrams and penned two hundred books which primarily focus on spirituality and the means to attain the height of devotion and spiritualism. Moreover, he was the head of Akhil Bharat Jaiguru Sampradaya, a well known organisation in the world.
His birthday is observed on Phalgun Krishna Paksha Panchami as per the traditional Hindu lunar calendar. The significance of the title of celebration is obtained from the fact that Sitaramdas had the vision of Lord Shiva. Thus it is a special occasion today. Naam gaan, dharma sabha and devotional songs are there on the plate to be served to one and all. At the end of the grand puja and celebration, prasad is distributed to all to add a different dimension to the whole approach! Life is replete with fears and challenges, but at times religious occasions act as a soothing salvo to the ached hearts and sprinkle the drops of tranquility in every nook and cranny of the universe!!
