Sunday Poem By Parvathy Ramachandran

The Young-Old Lady

After long, it's after quite a long time; Thought if, what I have to meet a dentist? It started as a pain on my cheek; So it's right time again in front of mirror, To self-examine the cause and reason.
Examined in detail the entire teeth structure. Recalling my school lessons -molars, premolars and canons; But things were all fine there, Very perfect in shape, size and even colour.
Now juxtaposed my dimple chin to either sides, Oh, happy moment it is! I could find a slight pinky tone on my cheeks, Oh! What a beauty, I said to myself.
'You are turning rosy day after day' ha! ha! Not knowing how to celebrate the happiness, Late night planned to take another bath too... As if nights lull you to sleep only if dirt-less.
And the next turn back right with a handy mirror, kept so close. Asked myself, what's that make you blemish young-old lady? And found it's nothing rosy, it's nothing blemishing, rather the abnormality - The very hormone, that leaves a pimple - which can make you either sane or insane! But for my age I have to wholly embrace the imbalance and I heartily do...
