Science may have many answers, but to common men, The power of the Supreme is what rules on all, Some see Him as Jesus and pray to him ‘Amen’ ‘Maa Durga’ is what the power we Bengalis call. That Durga will rescue us in whatever distress, Is not only an emotion, it’s an aeons-long belief, She is the mother of all beings, Mahakal’s mistress. It is She who, from all troubles, will give us relief. Our civilizations are rushing to be the best, In this rush, we have done so many heartless deeds, We pray to you, O Mother, for Humanity’s rest, Ensure, we don’t be slayers to fulfil our needs.
