You come each year, the same time, Our avid wait hurries to an end, You change your conveyance each year, Come to bless your devotee,your friend! Each father waits for Uma Each mother runs to the gate too, You draw up with your children They shout joyous expletives and coo! Maa, why can't you wipe all tears, Why can't you mete out justice to all? Maa why're we all sad and in sundry fears Why are you deaf to our prayers and call?
